About Us

Koubra Bandawal
Founder/President
It is a privilege to lead Indiana Refugee Resource Connection. For over 30 years, I have volunteered my time in helping others. In my eyes, giving is not a mere act, it is a way of life.
I firmly believe in the profound impact that even the smallest gestures of kindness can have on those in need. Whether it’s offering a helping hand, lending an empathetic ear, or contributing to charitable causes, my commitment to giving has no bounds.
I hope to inspire others to embrace the spirit of generosity and to join me in creating a world where compassion is abundant.

Lori Joundi
I have called Indiana home for over 16 years and feel inspired to help others create a safe and supportive home, especially for those who are facing insurmountable challenges coming from other parts of the world.
I enjoy being an active community member with various cultural and interfaith groups. In my free time, I enjoy reading, exercising, and traveling.

Zarmina Raza
As an individual who is passionate about making a positive impact in the world, I believe that giving back to those in need is not only a privilege but a responsibility. I have always been drawn to organizations that prioritize transparency and efficiency in their operations, which is why I am particularly interested in dedicating my time to a foundation with no overhead costs.
I firmly believe that every dollar donated should go directly towards helping those who need it most, rather than being wasted on administrative expenses or excessive overhead. By volunteering for a foundation with no overhead costs, I feel confident that my efforts are truly making a difference in the lives of others.
IRRC (Indiana Refugee Resource Connection) is 501c3 not-for-profit organization based in Indiana.
OUR VISION
Our commitment extends beyond immediate assistance with food and housing. We aim to address the long-term needs of the refugees by providing comprehensive support that encompasses physical, emotional, and social well-being. We work diligently to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion within American society by organizing community events, cultural exchanges, and mentorship programs. Additionally, we will collaborate with local partners to ensure that refugees have access to vital healthcare and mental health support, and legal resources. Through our collective efforts, we envision a future where refugees are empowered to rebuild their lives, contribute their unique perspectives and talents to society and ultimately become self-sufficient, thriving individuals within their new communities.
